Nougat Festival 2025: Cremona celebrates its iconic sweet Nov. 8-16

Cremona is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors for the new edition of the Nougat Festival, November 8-16, 2025.

Nine days in which the historic center will be transformed into a large open-air stage, including performances, tastings, historical re-enactments and spectacular installations. An event that combines tradition, culture and entertainment, capable every year of attracting thousands of visitors from Italy and abroad.

A centuries-long tradition

Nougat is more than just a sweet: it is an integral part of Cremonese identity. According to legend, its birth dates back to October 25, 1441, the day of the wedding between Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti. To celebrate the wedding, court confectioners allegedly created a cake made with honey, almonds and egg white, giving it the shape of the Torrazzo, the city's symbolic bell tower. From there the name "torrone" would derive.

Whether myth or historical reality, the legend lives on and gives meaning to the festival, transforming into reenactments and performances that take Cremona back to the 15th century.

What happens during the party

The Nougat Festival is a widespread event, involving squares, streets and buildings in the historic center. Among the most anticipated events of the 2025 edition:
